(Open access) The Reward Probability Index works in Mexico too

Journal of the Experimental Analysis of Behavior * Volume 123, Issue 2 (17 articles, 4 open access)
Most intriguing: Discrimination of highly similar stimuli as members of different equivalence classes
(Open access) Similar stimuli are best presented together when teaching discrimination between very similar targets

3/25 Derrenbacker, K. E., Sullivan, W. E., Baxter, E. L., Arroyo, B., Roane, H. S., Agnew, C. N., Koegel, M., & Craig, A. R. (2025). An analysis of renewal following fading of reinforcer type. Journal of the Experimental Analysis of Behavior, 1–12. https://doi.org/10.1002/jeab.70007
Two sources of reinforcement (O1 and O2) in rats were used to model renewal, when extinguished behavior returns due to receiving reinforcement. When forward fading (O2 only, fading in O1) or backward fading (O2 faded in), renewal was mitigated. When rats received just O2, then extinction, then O1, renewal was strongest

Education and Treatment of Children
3/26 Ampuero, M.E., Kinkade, E.M. & Ratkos, T. Evaluating the Effectiveness of Behavioral Skills Training on the Implementation of an Icon Exchange Communication Intervention by Preservice Educators. Educ. Treat. Child. (2025). https://doi.org/10.1007/s43494-025-00153-4
(Open access) BST was used to teach teachers how to implement AAC devices with kids; the training worked

The Psychological Record
3/28 Tomlinson, G.M., Oliveira, J.S.C.D., Reinhardt, G. et al. Establishment and Maintenance of Stimulus Classes Following Equivalence-Based and Comprehensive Training. Psychol Rec (2025). https://doi.org/10.1007/s40732-025-00638-z
61 college students were put in different stimulus equivalence groups. They were essentially all equally efficient, but one condition (linear series) showed a loss of transitive and equivalence relations

BACB
March newsletter
The BACB is abandoning all references to “DEI” in their coursework requirements, proposed continuing education changes, etc. Are they doing this because it is the right thing to do, or perhaps because they believe that DEI was a mistake? No; they admit that they don’t want the scrutiny of the federal government on their accreditation. Whatever your feelings on DEI, this is cowardly.

Accidentally behavior analysis

A mainstream news article that relates to behavior analysis

Still Amusing Ourselves, Slate
In a “review” of a newly-popular book published in 1985, there is a mention of what the author thinks of television for kids:

[Neil] Postman, a professor of education at New York University, took particular issue with Sesame Street, for example, because he felt that it taught children to think and learn using a format adapted from TV commercials.

Seems uncharitable…except one Ogden Lindsley had much the same feeling in 1990:

I suddenly realized that Sesame Street was a danger to effective education. It produced absolutely no viewer performance, yet pretended to educate. Mr. Rogers' television show asks the viewers to do things at least once or twice each show.
