Autism Therapy Leaders Forecast Integrated Care, AI-Driven Strategies, More M&A Activity for 2025
I found this article to be, with all due respect, shit. We can expect all the CEOs to essentially claim that their business model is the way of the future, but let’s just look at the headline and examine the three trends: integrated care, AI, and M&A. We can argue that integrated care is positive, but what about the other 66% of that sentence? Who benefits from AI and M&A? In related news, UnitedHealth exec’s murder unlikely to change insurer practices, because there is no appetite for systemic change that does not increase profit – even as Americans pay the highest cost for healthcare in the world.

I Was a Health Insurance Executive. What I Saw Made Me Quit., NYT
This week, CASP hosted a podcast with Dr. Darren Sush from Cigna Evernorth. Also this week, a former employee of Cigna detailed in the NYT all of the messy unethical details that caused them to quit, which included denying a life-saving operation for a teen who later died. As of last year, Cigna reviewers rejected claims without actually looking at them, graduating this year to using an algorithm. Dr. Sush was on a panel this year championing value-based care. He claimed it was not a matter of cutting costs, but somehow Evernorth is leading Cigna in profits. We would like to personally thank Dr. Sush for all the costs he has cut.

Flashback
Jerome Ulman has specifically written several articles connecting behaviorism and Marxism. This led to him praising Cuba at least once, a mistake (?) repeated by Maria Malott. James Holland, who co-wrote a book with Skinner, appeared to praise Marxism. Skinner was not a Marxist, but he approvingly quotes Marx in What is wrong with daily life in the Western world? It appears that they all understood: the problem is not the pigeon, but the design of the box.
